Coastal Kids is a local independent children’s lifestyle shop in the beautiful seaside town of North Berwick, Scotland. For us, being able to appreciate family time is essential so we’ve got you covered for any occasion.

Kids Toys, Shoes and Clothes 

We have clothing for mini adventurers from newborn to 13 years and even stock a range of wonderful, retro adults clothing so the whole family can look great while enjoying time together.

Our Kids Clothing Brands

You can choose from fabulous British brands like Frugi and Kite with their incredibly soft Organic Cotton fabrics and funky prints or there’s the classy Spanish chic of Mayoral as well as the lovely Hatley range from Canada and the ever popular, time-less British St Bert’s with its seaside style and nostalgic feel.

Kids Shoe Shop

Our staff are all trained in shoe fitting and we offer an in-store measuring and fitting service together with our wonderful range of Geox, Lelli Kelly and StartRite shoes and boots. We can fit for any size from first steps to school and more, just pop in to meet the team and see our full range.

Toys, Gifts & Accessories For Children

We also have plenty of little treasures to be uncovered from toys to gifts and accessories. We love our range of sturdy, educational, fair trade wooden toys from Lanka Kade and Plan Toys and know the kids do too as our toy box is always imaginatively enjoyed. Our accessories from Hatley, Mimi & Lula and Rockahula are bound to catch the eye of any glam little magpie with their sparkles and cute innovative designs – glitter T-rex clips anyone!

The Story Of Us... And Why We Do It 

We (that’s me Veeann, my husband Phil and our two boys, Rhys and Fraser) moved to North Berwick in 2016 as it seemed a pretty amazing place to live and put down some roots as a family. I was looking for a change of direction since being a teacher for over 15 years and had always wanted to run my own children’s shop. So after many months talking about the idea, it was time to take the leap and in September 2018, Coastal Kids finally opened their doors. The aim was to provide a much needed children’s shop for locals and tourists alike. Products and brands were hand-picked to reflect the seaside vibe that goes with the town as well as ethical, organic and Fair Trade credentials.  Each year we have added new brands and products and I am always on the lookout for something a bit different!

Serving Edinburgh and East Lothian Kids Since 2018

We are now into our 4^th year, and hopefully having survived the pandemic during our terrible 2s and 3s, we are continuing to grow and develop. From the moment we took our first baby steps back in 2018 we have been overwhelmed by the support and love from all of our customers. Whether it be local people picking up school shoes, tourists looking for beachwear, the feedback has been amazing and so supportive.
